Wild Animal Park

Went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park on Saturday and the kids had a great time. Rebecca and I not so much - It was our first trip to the park and we were under the impression that you saw most of the park on some kind of shuttle. Boy were we wrong! You walk about 90% of the time and of course we didn't bring a stroller so we ended up carrying Sage most of the day and Hunter occassionaly. Needless to say it was a little difficult getting out of bed the next day. After the park we went and visited our friends Jim & Joan Messrah and their baby Brooke and after that went to my friend Craig's 30th birthday party. Long day but overall fun weekend.

Update

It's been a while since we posted anything on the site. Seems like we were only posting with health updates - Since we're done with all the testing haven't had much to say. Been an uneventful summer so far. The kids have started swim lessons - Neither has taken to it very well yet. A little surprised Hunter hasn't but a couple of weeks ago he fell off the steps in to the pool and went under and hasn't been the same since. He's always been a fish but now he's a little leary of it all. Sage as always is very standoffish and wont allow the instructor to hold her so Rebecca has held her at both of the classes so far. We're thinking of entering her in to one of the classes we did for Hunter at the Little Gym. It allowed him to come out of his shell and maybe it will do the same for her.

Went to San Diego Zoo a couple of weeks ago and the kids had a pretty good time. They got worn out pretty quickly as did Mommy and Daddy pushing the double stroller up those hills so we only got to see half the zoo. We're going to go back shortly since Rebecca got a deal on season passes.

Took the kids to the Angels this week (Thanks Luke!) and it seems that Hunter is finally taking an interest in the actual game. Wasn't sure he was ever going to get in to but it seems we might actually have a sports guy on our hands. Since Sage generally likes to do whatever her brother does she seems to like it to. We bought a hitting machine for Hunter and Sage likes it just as much - She has a pretty good swing.

Rebecca posting - The last two weeks Sage has been doing pretty well with potty training. We have had couple of accidents but she is eager to sit on the potty. She like to wear the BIG girl panties.

It is our 10th wedding anniversary on the 27th of June. And life is grand, I would do it all over again. It is an amazing life with amazing kids and the best husband in the world. I have a special dinner planned. Maybe a nice walk on the beach. Thank you Erik for being a great dad and husband!

Erik Update

I'm finally back in the work force. After a 6 month vacation I started at Blackdot Wireless last week. It's a sales position where I negotiate long term Cell Site leases for AT&T.

Another Sage Update

Great news - Sage FINALLY had her Cystic Fybrosis test and that came back negative. She has her 2 year appt. in a couple of weeks and we'll see what if anything her primary doctor wants to do. She is finally pushing 22 pounds but is still not on the growth chart.

Another Sage Update

We received the next round of tests and still no problems. Our last scheduled test is for cystic fybrosis although it seems HIGHLY unlikely she has it since she shows no symptoms other than the failure to thrive. We've been very pleased with her recent weight gains and feel she is just a slow starter and will catch up very soon.

Christmas

The kids both loved their presents - Hunter especially likes his GEO Train track and Cars Mountain Race track. Sage likes her new babies and her new Strollers to push them in.

Update - November 16, 2008

It's been a fairly uneventful last couple of months. Rebecca's Mom and sister Eva came to stay with us for 2 weeks and the kids had a blast with them. Hunter really bonded with Eva and was crushed when she left for home. The kids dressed up in a few different costumes for Halloween week. Sage costumes ranged from a puppy to a princess and Hunter was Bob the Builder and a Fireman. Went to the pumpkin patch a couple of times and we were really proud of Sage since she rode on all of the rides and horses by herself for the first time. She is incredibly independent and prefers to do most things for her self now. Hunter still asks you to put his socks on for him (I think we babied him to much since he was our first).

Hope everyone has a great holiday season!

Went to down to Terry & Betsy's beach house in Oceanside this week. We had a blast as always - The weather was great and the water was perfect. Thanks again Terry!

Halloween

The kids trick or treated all of their friends houses on our street. Got a lot a candy and had most of it in their tummies about an hour after we got back.
